Velvet Fog is a tribute to Mel Tormé, written and performed by Mark Stevens. A program of music and dialogue, the show is perfectly suited for cabarét and theater performance. Stevens recalls Mel's relationship with Marilyn Monroe and his tenuous encounters with songwriter Richard Rodgers. There are also glimpses into Mel's early years when he was a singer for The Chico Marx Orchestra and his frustrating opening night at The Copacabana in New York City. Mel Tormé was a fabulous entertainer and Stevens weaves a delightful tale around him. |
